Our service comprises both community teams for people with learning disabilities (CTPLD’s) and the Intensive Support Team (IST).
The CTPLD’s provide specialist healthcare service for people who have a learning disability (IQ below 70) and health need that requires input. The focus is on supporting people with learning disabilities and related health needs to lead happier, healthier and more fulfilling lives. The teams are made up of up of skilled multi-disciplinary practitioners, clinicians and nurses.
IST provides community assessment and treatment to adults with learning disabilities experiencing mental ill health or behaviour that challenges. This multi-disciplinary team of nurses, psychologist, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists is also supported by a duty clinician role to respond to urgent and deteriorating needs.
We also have a respite ward for short stays and the Opportunities for You team who offer care for people with learning disabilities
