Creating Tomorrow College offers two year post 18 study programmes to support students with special educational needs transition into adulthood.
Students will be aged between the age of 16-25 with an Education, Health Care Plan. Students will have a primary diagnosis of Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Physical Difficulties.
Two pathways or courses are on offer and the college also offers Supported Internships.
Pathway to Employment
This pathway aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills and experience that will empower each individual to pursue a career in their chosen vocational area. This will continue to build upon competences and abilities developed within the Independence pathway or school to ensure a rounded to approach to creating opportunities for students to become successfully bridge the gap into adulthood.
Pathway to Independence (from 2023/24 academic year).
This pathway aims to build upon the students sense of self and equip them with the skills to gain more independence and become an active part of their community. The intent is to upskill students with domestic, financial, travel, participation and relationship independence skills which will support their progression into adulthood and further learning.
The curriculum gives students a variety of learning experiences to allow them to explore their talents, abilities and preferences.
This pathway may be appropriate for students that are able to gain employment in adult life, however need that bit more developmental time to successfully access the Pathway to Employment.
